Thought...

I thought about you today...
Wondering what you are doing and what you had for lunch
Wondering if you are smiling the way I am
Beacons of light shine through the pores of my skin
My eyes are like the bright blue clouds that hold the suns rays
Reflecting GODs light...that's what our love is

Through GODs grace and mercy I'm granted access to HIS place of kingdom authority my heart full embraces
My mind dreams of your hand to behold as we walk into unity and watch our love unfold and take on this world to magnify HIS glory
And let our union be told as a story
To ears that want to listen and minds that want to glisten to manifest a destiny that only GOD can give through HIS lessons -

Where is the Love? - Donny Hathaway

What a Super Bowl 47! Congratulations to the Baltimore Ravens! (Maybe next year New Orleans Saints)

For me it wasn't really the game that I was excited about it...ok. I was excited about that awesome play made by Jacoby Jones. However, my eyes were glued to the Queen Bey! Beyonce is just...FIERCE.  I was and am proud of her. I was really excited to see Kelly and Michelle joining her onstage. They all looked so beautiful, and their performance was awesome. On the contrary, I read some harsh comments about Michelle, even by a musical colleague allegedly made a comment.

Grant it everyone is entitled to their opinion, but why are Black women so hard on each other? I am not going to say that slavery plays a part in it because, we know better. I would love to see those same people making negative comments about Michelle get up on stage where millions of people are watching you, and perform.  Because of perfection, sure you wouldn't miss a note, dance step, swing hair cue or smile cue, right?

There is no way I could get up in front of a large audience and be able to do that. I admire people that can. When will we as Black women learn to lift each other up? We have enough to deal with in our daily lives, do we have to add the insults to our sister?  Is it that one is not happy with self, so the attack is put on someone else?

We have to support each other. We have to stop making comparisons and appreciate each others talents, gifts, and contributions made. If we spoke more positive things to and about each other the way negative things are spoken, my LORD....what could we accomplish!

As women, we have so many wonderful and beautiful gifts. We can do some remarkable things. We can carry life. We can build our king up, raise our children, prepare a meal, and do whatever we put our minds to. We are the carriers of the multi-task gene. We are strong, yet soft. We are beautiful, unique, loving, and giving.

So the next time negativity is spoken against another sista, remember you are speaking about yourself....

LET IT SHINE

Every gift GOD gave u
Let it shine...
Don't keep it within
The world needs to see and feel GODs love
No matter the storm...shine
You are equipped with everything you need
Don't let the gift die by listening to negativity
There are people waiting on you
Unfold those gifts and let them shine...
